It’s amazing the things you can think of during a deployment. This is a song that will sum up all my deployments. There is no way you can go though three deployments and come out clean and all together there. Yes I did see a lot of action during my first deployment, not so much from my second and nothing from my third.
This country is getting better but the deployments still take a toll on you. The time away from your family and civiliation can wear you down after awhile. There is nothing you can do about it. But I do know that before I joined the Army I did not listen to songs like this one, but now I can’t sleep at night unless I listen to this song.
I have been to mental health and yes I have PTSD, but I think I can still function in society. I do feel better when I am on a deployment even better when I go outside the wire. This has caused a great concern for my family and friends. This is something that I can’t change about my life, but it is now a part of my life forever. There are a lot of things that I have not told my wife and never will. There are times that I really want to be left alone, but I know I should not.
This war has taken a toll on everyone involved. Right now I just want to say that I would do it all over again in a heart beat and if this is my last one, I will have to see what the future brings. But I do know that the military will always need people and I will join back up, Army Strong!
