That’s right, Richard and I have been married for ten years! WOW! I really can’t believe it myself! And for a change, we left the kids with their grandmother (she fly in from Texas) and drove about 45 minutes north to King’s Dominion, an amusement park run by Paramount.
We had a BLAST! We rode every ride but three (one the line was super-duper long and the other two were broken) and just had a grand ole time! We of course had to have some of our favorite park foods: funnel cakes, ICEE’s, pizza and BBQ burgers. We even took one of those photos as you walk in the gate and got one from one of the rides we went on. I have to get those scanned in for people to see!

Here’s Richard right after riding the Drop Zone, a ride that straps in about 40 or so people and it raises you 272 feet in the air and drops you without warning at 72 mph!! Both of us were weak in the knees when we got off. All I did was scream the whole time up and the whole time coming down!
We stopped to have some lunch after riding it and of course I felt like I was going to loose my lunch when we rode the Tomb Raider ride that took you upside down over and over again! We rode several rides twice and one ride took you backwards instead of forwards! That was creepy!
Here’s me, waiting patiently at the Hypersonic XLC ride while they were shut down because of the weather. We waited two hours and then they said they had no clue when they were going to open it up again so we left and turns out they opened it up 20 minutes later! We never got to go on it because the line was so long!
And here’s the photo that I love the most (okay, besides the ones I took with my wonderful husband!) – me meeting SpongeBob and Patrick! I was like a kid again! Richard commented that they looked bigger in person, lol! We never got to see anyone else as we made it around the park. Have to bring the kids back definitely so we are made to stay in the kid’s section all day to see our favorite characters!
If you’d like to see more pictures, you can check them out here. I didn’t take quite as many as I normally do since most of the time I’m taking photos of the kids, but I did take some! I couldn’t just leave the camera behind! TTFN!
